About
Chiropractic
Chiropractic
is a branch of the healing arts based on the Science, Art
and Philosophy that the brain and nervous system controls
and influences the function of every cell and tissue in
the body. Irritation or interference to the nervous system
(caused by the fixation or hypermobility of spinal joints)
adversely affects how the brain and body communicate with
each other. Therefore, a healthy spine and nervous system
is the basis for natural health and healing, allowing the
body to exhibit its true health potential.
The chiropractic approach is to look to the spine and nervous
system for the cause of many health problems and to not
use drugs or treatments that merely cover up or mask the
symptoms. When problems are found, they are usually treated
through careful adjustments/manipulations of the body’s
spine and joints to restore proper function so that the
body can return to a more healthy state naturally while
avoiding drugs and/or surgery. Sometimes, physiotherapy
treatments and rehabilitation therapies are required along
with chiropractic care.
AT
ADVANCED CHIROPRACTIC & SPORTS CLINIC, WE OFFER THREE
TYPES OF CARE FROM WHICH YOU MAY CHOOSE. WE REALIZE THE
NEEDS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL MAY REQUIRE UNIQUE ATTENTION.
-
Relief
Care - You schedule your own appointments on an as needed
basis for acute pain. You choose when you'd like to
return for treatment.
-
Corrective
Care - In this type you not only seek relief of your
symptoms but also would like permanent correction
of the problem that is causing the symptom. The doctor
recommends a treatment plan that not only takes pressure
off the nerves but also changes the ligaments to improve
posture and joint flexibility. Much the same way that
it takes time to straighten teeth, it also takes time
to change spinal conditions.
-
Maintenance
Care - After corrective care this includes regular spinal
check ups on a monthly to quarterly basis. Much the
same way that in getting your teeth cleaned you can
prevent cavities; studies have shown that getting your
spine regularly adjusted prevents sports injustices,
falls, degenerative arthritis, and easier pregnancy
deliveries. The regular care stimulates your nervous
and immune system. Patients choosing this plan notice
fewer flare-ups, increased flexibility and energy. We
schedule you for regular check ups and remind you the
day before your appointment.
